It’s been a busy week and I haven’t picked up the camera every day. By the time I realize I’ve not captured a moment, the light is terrible and the only “memory” left to celebrate is folding laundry. Huzzah, right? So, do me a favor and forgive me the gaps.

Syd is into everything right now, and she’s exercising her immortal right to defiance. She is constantly on my legs and grasping my hands to get me out of the kitchen and into some serious play time with her. And by serious play time, it’s crawl-all-over-mommy-and-stand-on-her-ribs-ow-her-boobs-ow-her-belly-ow. She is climbing and standing on other things she’s not supposed to, too. After scaling Mt. Mommy, her next favorite place to climb and stand and tower fearlessly several feet above the hardwood floors is at the kitchen table. On this bench my grandpa made, or on one of the freshly painted white chairs.  Today, I just gave up and prayed she wouldn’t tip off and crack her teeth, her ocular cavity or any other part of her skull.

I’ve taken to spraypainting the old IKEA chairs that sit at our kitchen table. With a very limited decorating budget, I’m trying to do little things to restyle and refresh our home. Ryan doesn’t get this desire. He’s just not a nester. I think if he could live outdoors all year, he might. As long as there was a firepit for making hot water for tea. And some bushes to cover him while he’s doing his biznass. I, on the other hand, pick up every shelter magazine I can and long for the day when our home is the perfect mix of Japanese, English and Swedish style.

Sydney has figured out how to take off her pajamas in the morning. All this week, we’ve gone into greet her and she’s chirping good morning in her skivvies.
